Social Action at Temple Sinai

Temple Sinai engages in several social action projects, within the congregation and in the greater community.

Our Caring Committee coordinates requests from members for assistance, such as rides to medical appointments or to Temple Sinai, assistance with setting up shiva after funerals, and other matters.   The Committee has identified the Peninsula Agency on Aging (PAA) as an alternative for transportation when members are unable to assist.   Contact Michele Linn or Sheila Schoenberg if you’d like to assist the Caring Commitee on occasion and click here for details of the assistance PAA can provide.

Around Christmas, Temple Sinai assists PORT at a local homeless shelter, including serving breakfast.  Contact Larry Linn to volunteer.

During the holiday season, Sisterhood solicits and collects food and household goods for a needy family sponsored by Transitions, which helps shelter against domestic violence.
