Our stained glass windows: Ruth and Naomi

Ruth and Naomi 
” … and thy people shall be my people and thy G-d my G-d … ” 
Book of RuthRuth and Naomi stand devotedly beneath an arch copied from an archeological drawing of a synagogue by Avi Yonah. The three-lobed grape and vine pattern was used predominantly by the Jewish people. Naomi’s face is that of a Jewish woman lost in the holocaust and was taken from a photograph by Roman Vishniac in his book, “A Vanished World.”  Ruth’s sister, Orpah, is shown returning to her people. The pink rose in Naomi’s hand was requested by the family of the donor.  It represents Rena Nachman Kates’s favorite flower.(After viewing a window, use the back arrow of your browser to return to the tour listing and select the next window)
