7_23 Rebekah

Rebekah
Rebekah
“She made haste and put down her pitcher.”
Genesis 24:15-67

Rebekah is seen at the well, graciously giving water to a stranger.  Since there was little water to spare in the arid land, this was an act of unusual generosity.  The water spilling from her urn is dramatized in the design to indicate her unselfish nature with this act.  The stranger, a servant of Isaac, has been guided here by an angel to find a wife for his master.  The servant offers her jewels he has brought with him in a red satchel slung over his shoulder.
