Biblical Garden tour stage 9

Garden

The pale blue flower of flax, when the stalks were left to dry on the flat rooftops of the houses of the Holy Land and thus exposed to sun and air, became ready to be made into linen. Saffron was made from the stigma of the Crocus; it took 4000 stigmas to make one ounce of saffron. Saffron was also a dye used to color food, and it had several medical uses.
